Photos from the Black Lives Matter 2016 Protest in Seattle

Black Lives Matter protesters assembled at Westlake Park in downtown Seattle, where the annual Christmas Tree Lighting is held on Black Friday. Because of last year's protests, the city downsized the long-running festivity due to expectations of a repeat protest. Over a thousand showed up and marched through the streets for nearly 5 hours in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and to show solidarity with political prisoners, refugees, the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) protests, and other causes. This story contains 18 photos from the event in photo essay style.
